Dog Licence

Read somewhere that they're thinking of re-introducing the dog licence and giving the Local Council's the power to set the fee. Now if this is true it generally means it's a money making scheme for the LA and there is the possibility of the owner's being fined or the dog being removed if said licence isn't bought. Given how successful it was the first time round I doubt it will take off but if they're serious and they bring in a law to make it compulsory like a tv licence for instance....how many would buy one...a dog licence not a tv licence

 

I have had a Dangerous wild animals license for many years and the price of that is set by the local council. They can only charge a fee for their costs however epending where you live in the UK this can range from about £60 to £3000.

 

I also believe that the last dog license was stopped because the cost of administering it outweighed the revenue from it.

 

I am against nearly everything that means new laws as I think we have far too many already. I would pay it as I would hate to lose my dogs.

Think of all the dogs that would be sold if a licence come in there are people out there that dont have a lot of money dont they care about that

Very well said mate...but all they will have to do is remove a few dogs and prosecute a couple of folk and the others will fall into line

i cant see a dog licence being of any use .. just another form to fill in & imo it proves nothing
