Pennymeadow Whippets 0
Due to a lure coursing club offering to find the top lure coursing whippet in the country in a 16 dog stake for their own members (Closed Shop) we thought this would be the best option & would truly find the top lure coursing whippet in the country. Quote With this in mind Myself & Pennymeadow are toying with the Idea of organising several meetings around the country with the winner/runner up both qualifying for a Final 16 dog stake to find the true top lure coursing whippet in the country, the heats would be open to any whippet that was KC registered that way you realy do find the real top whippet. anyone that would be interested in taking part in such an event PM me so we can see if enough people would be interested in running at it to make it viable. obviouysly we'll arrange for a independant judge for the events. dodger 2,751
Seems a bit unfair the dogs have to be kc just to find out the best lines, whats wrong with just finding the best individual dog. Theres alot of unregisterd dogs about and you might get more interest. Quote Link to post

Theres alot of unregisterd dogs about and you might get more interest Because its to find the best pedigree lure coursing whippet not lurcher or non ped. OK Lady's & Gentlemen, i've just been rung by the powers that be at East Anglia, and i'm now in a possition to clarify a few issues. 1, Stake 1 & 3 are Open to NONE EAWCC members. 2, all whippets MUST be KC registered and MUST be under 20" (at the shoulder). 3, ALL entry forms MUST be requested from The Club Secretary. 4, ONLY DOGS ENTERED IN THE LURE COURSING STAKES OR FOR TRIALS TO BE TAKEN TO THE VENUE. Guest smoothrun
Why kc registered? That's snobbery if you ask me. Quote Link to post
parkstone 24
Why kc registered? That's snobbery if you ask me LOL At Selby Game fair 2 years ago whippets were turned away from the simulated coursing as we were all told that KC whippets wern't welcome? and thats after being invited down and even given passes to get track side by 1 of the organisers? SO WHAT WOULD YOU CALL THAT? only after a lot of complaining did we get to run but in the final a whippet was leading at the 3rd flag and the lure mysteriously slowed down the whippet stuck fell over and the lure was whisked away and the lurcher awared the course? NOW THATS SNOBBERY they obviously didnt want a whippet to win (it wasnt my whippet by the way) pure and simple its an event for KC whippets there are plenty of events for lurechers ect organised already. dodger 2,751
Thats fair enough like you say its just for whippets not lurchers i realised that when you first put the post up. I just meant why not include whippets that arn,t kc registered, as i bet theres a few lads who have these and may want a bash. Edited February 10, 2007 by dodger Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
mabye they dont want there asses whipping by a non ped.. Quote Link to post
parkstone 24
mabye they dont want there asses whipping by a non ped.. Would you realy class it as a fair race? a pure bred KC whippet against a dog with greyhound in its ancesters?. I just meant why not include whippets that arn,t kc registered, as i bet theres a few lads who have these and may want a bash You could always organise an event for the non peds? Quote Link to post
dodger 2,751
I,m not into whippets ped or non ped or into racing for that matter i was just wondering why they had to be paperd but dont worry about it, its gone now At least i,v bumped this a few times for ya Edited February 10, 2007 by dodger Quote Link to post
heart of wales 19
At the Heart of Wales Game and Country fair in August we have a 32 dog stake simulated coursing for Lurchers on the Sunday. We are hoping to arrange on the Saturday Simulated coursing for sighthounds,it would be great if we could do whippet coursing as well. Quote Link to post
blando 0
i dont understand why a dog with greyhound blood would be much better as long as there are set weight classes whats the point in finding the best ped those stupid KC standards are just a load of crap anyway! it should be the top dog for its weiht class shurly!? the only reason i think you are doing this is because you are quite sure you can win. but why not make it a bit more interesting and say any dog can enter?
