To Grass or not too Grass

Recommended Posts

Charlotte from what i've read you reported the owners as a last resort,I don't think

there was anything else you could have done[other than let the dogs go through

more suffering].So you're consious should be clear.

Perhaps the question you should be asking is,what would everyone else have done

in the circumstances? Or you could of asked them what options you had.

As for donating to the RSPCA :no: I wouldn't give them the reek off my shite :)

I own a dog that had been starved/neglected by his original "master" (what a joke). When he first came to us, his bones were sticking through his skin and he was covered in sore from where he had been left to lay down on concrete for ten months bored sh@tless.

If I knew of an animal being neglected, I think I would be tempted to inflict some sort of pay back to the owner. As for grassing, neverhad to yet and could only answer that if the situation arises.

In reply for what you did, well good for you, you went with what you thought was right............Al :thumbs-up:

Thanks Tote,

I did intend posting this topic as a way of finding out what others would have done in the same situation, maybe others would have acted differently??? Lets see how the post goes.

I still stand by what I did. :)

They did have pay back in the form of me jumping her fence and giving her and her mate a good lamping....and I have never had a scuffle in my life before!!!!!:icon_redface::no:

The payback was not for the dogs at the time though, but that added to my anger!!!! :realmad: :realmad: :realmad:

It was to do with the stupid cow being smacked up to the eyeballs on some chemicals and chanting to me that she was glas my Mum had dropped dead!!!!!!! This was about 2 weeks after her funeral, and my Mum was the salt of the earth and always helped everyone!!!

She is very lucky that she still has breath in her body!!!!!!!!

I see no problem reporting a neglected animal to the rspca because i think most of us on here know what neglected means. Unlike some pricks who think a dog is neglected if it is not allowed to sleep on your bed every night and stuffed to bursting point with pedigree chum.

Well said

I think if you'd sat back and done nothing you could'nt really call yourself a responsable dog owner,no dog should be kept like that wether its yours or some one elses. If some smack head had beaten up an old woman and you reported it to police would you be a grass or a decent person trying to do something about this joke of a country that we unfortunately now live in? As for donations there are plenty of fieldsport organisations that promote animal welfare

am sure you only did what you did because you had no other avenue to turn, plus you did'nt know better. The one comment that disdurbs me is, you dont regret it and would do it again to what ends?? they didnt do anything first time round .

I think a lesson is learnt through this post. CC, put her trust in a CHARITY that she thought was helping the animals she too cared about. It is through threads like this that people learn what some organisations are about.

I will say this CC, there are people that care about dog's, that will give you good sound advice, and dont want your money for caring. Think this thread speaks volumes.xx

Thanks Lurcherbitch,

And just to clear up my comment " I would do it again" I was reffering to intervening with a neglected animal...... I meant I stand by my decision to do something about it.....did not mean it as a refferal on contacting RSPCA.......Just wanted to clarify that.

Funny situation isn't it? People where I come from would no more contact authorities (or whoever) than they would the devil.

But what do you do if you can see animals being mistreated? watch them starve, I suppose, it's better than calling someone to try and help them isnt it? Cos the RSPCA are anti-everthing you stand for aren't they? So f**k them, let the dogs get so thin they are starting to hurt, it's none of your business anyway.

See them sores the dogs have? never mind, not your concern, they belong to that bloke, his worry not yours, at least you're not being a grass by reporting him, thats the main thing.

It's tough, we don't have an organised body like the RSPCA, the irish version is much smaller and run on volunteer lines for the most part. But I'd hate to have to contact them all the same, and at the same time, I'd hate to be so wretched as to let animals be tortured.

It's a fecking tough one, and I don't know what I'd do if it were me. So I'm not going to judge someone else who did.

i,ve been brought up with hunting animals its a great passion of mine, animals that we can can eat, i will kill and eat them because its what i know but with said, if i saw any animal mistreated be it a dog, cow, horse, cat(even tho i hate cats) or even a bloody hamster i would do something about it and if telling the rspca was the only way to sort it i would. Some people just should`nt be allowed to own animals!!!

Not the RSPCA no, but I would still act and not sit by watching these animals being starved and abused!!!

That was the thing you seemed to be missing in my origional post......I was slating the RSPCA with everyone else!!!! Not supporting them!!

The £5 a month you've been donating went towards helping with the hunting ban and i'd presume that now, donations are going towards the banning of rearing game birds, then i think they said it would be angling after that!!!!

and you a donater of this site, mmmmmmm :hmm:

:hmm::laugh::hmm:

Bullet,

Please don't have me drawn up as a supporter of the RSPCA :censored:

I know the damage they do for people who enjoy hunting life.

I was a very stupid 16yr old when I started donating........bit of a sheep I suppose, everyone else at work was donating to help the africans or something!! Now if I had have done that my Dad would have kicked me out :laugh:

So I chose the animal one......hindsights a wonderful thing :hmm::hmm::hmm:
