charlotte hill 0
All, Please take a moment to give your opinion on Grassing!!! Look at RSPCA post in general talk, I seem to be getting a right slating for supposedly grassing on neighbours to the RSPCA by Gnasher 16. I know everyone has a right to an opinion, but I'm baffled to be labelled a snitch!!! ( get full story on post and please read full story, ie all courses of action ) I would just like to know what other people's course of action would have been, curiosity!! I am not a Bunny Hugging do gooder, but I also will not stand seeing animals being neglected on purpose. I am talking about starving dog's.....not the odd gruesome injury picked up whilst your working your dog!! Gnasher16, this is not a post intended to start a heated debate or a war of words, just curious as to other peoples opinions too.
shepp 2,285
I see no problem reporting a neglected animal to the rspca because i think most of us on here know what neglected means. Unlike some pricks who think a dog is neglected if it is not allowed to sleep on your bed every night and stuffed to bursting point with pedigree chum.
Guest Shameless
you could have fed them until the dog warden came btw to grass or not to grass NEVER once a grass always a grass with an attitude like that if you saw my dog being taken for a walk and it accidently put up a hare and ran it would you grass on me , because the law banned it basically because they deemed it cruel? So would you protect that poor hare from my dog with the law or would you grass on the farmer(legal owner of the hare) for neglecting to look after the hare properly
IanB 0
Put it this way, wankers who don't look after their dogs properly and blatantly state their ONLY dogs want shooting, twats
cragman 2,770
This is one that is best left to peoples own conscience. Put another way though, if the person starving their animal is a known anti or local tw*t, would that encourage you to report them?
mole trapper 1,693
SPOT ON IAN. :thumbs-up:
LDR 29
The £5 a month you've been donating went towards helping with the hunting ban and i'd presume that now, donations are going towards the banning of rearing game birds, then i think they said it would be angling after that!!!! I have no prob's with any form of hunting!!!!!! Thats why I'm a member of this site!!!!!!!! And an attutuse like what!!!!! I was not, as I stated meaning any injury picked up by your dog's or other animals whilst working them!!!! Thats par for the course!!! I mean dogs being TRULY neglected......and trying to feed them was hard enough because they were too wary of people. If not wishing to see dog's truly neglected is grassing :thumbs-up: :thumbs-up: Then a grass I am!!! Remember in the post too, if read fully.....I gave owners oppurtunity to pass these dogs on
FPO 0
If an animal is suffering then we are as bad as the people doing it if we sit back and let it happen IF you think it is ok for dogs to be mistreated, then you are probably the sort who agree with allowing your quarry to suffer, if you agree to this than you are not a true sportsman. As for who else to donate to? Can you not donate to your local independant animal shelter. There must be an independant Lurcher rescue? to help with the dogs that come from twits that dont care. Either that or someone Like Blue cross, who at least help those who do care and cant afford costly vets bills.

Put another way though, if the person starving their animal is a known anti or local tw*t, would that encourage you to report them? I think I'm missing your point?? Anti or local twat, neglect is neglect....... Good sugestions for donations.....will look into it, £5 monthly is not a fortune....but if it's a decent charity I may consider giving more :thumbs-up: The £5 a month you've been donating went towards helping with the hunting ban and i'd presume that now, donations are going towards the banning of rearing game birds, then i think they said it would be angling after that!!!! Donation's now stopped, as a yougster I was led to believe the RSPCA can help, and I dare say they do on a lot of occasions. But one case of REAL neglect that they fail to act on, is one too many in my oppinion!!
scotrat 2
Charlotte, No problem with you "grassing" as some have put it and as you have said neglect is neglect but I have got a problem with anybody who gives money to an organisation who are hell bent on stopping ALL FEILDSPORTS and I do mean everything.Even the bloody fishing is being targeted. So if it was me I would give my money to the countryside alliance,NGO,conservancy trust- I could go on for ever. :thumbs-up:

It gets taken out of monthly wage so....... It was only more recently that I thought about it!!!! Want to carry on dontating to something worthwhile, not an organisation that is hell bent on spoiling thing's for Like minded hunters.......

I meant no badness towards you when i made that statement, which is why i clearly wrote " each to their own"...and i stick to what i said,i could live with myself a lot easier for not reporting a starving animal than i could for grassing...but thats just me, hence " each to their own" sorry if i ruffled your feathers i ceratainly didnt mean to...i just honestly think that most people could accept someone who didnt report a starving animal a lot easier than they could accept a grass...but then we all live in different worlds and all have different outlooks Edited February 10, 2007 by gnasher16
charlotte hill 0
As I said Gnasher, this post is not meant to be a dig at you.....just wanted to sound out other peoples views. I am just finding it VERY VERY hard to accept that some people (inc yourself) would live better with there decision to see a dog starve, than to act upon it. As you said each to their own, I can live with my decision.........and would still do the same in the future. I dont think that reporting TRUE cruelty makes me any kind of anti!! I would rather do something about it, than be one of those do gooders who waits for the dog to die and then start raging..."why did someone not do anything to help" Freedom of speech though, everyone has a choice.
