shroob 9
I get the feeling the dogs are pinning or baying up the game as many look like the throat was slashed. The dogs look like they can run forever but I wonder what they got left at the end I think that is to do with the handlers religious beliefs. Meat has to be killed in a certain way (throat slit) for it to be considered halal. So the dogs might well hold the game then the hunters come in and slit the throats. I remember watching a video of some Indians/Pakistani's hunting with a cheetah and they did this (run in and slit the animals throat). Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
snoopdog, great pic that thanks for posting. i hear saluki hybrids have very good feet, if come from the right breeding, parents and grand parents ect.? i see their on them you-tube clips of salukis in deserts running on some rough ground, some with stones and id say its hard ground too in a lot of them places, so their feet would have to be good? nobody can say all saluki,s or all line bred saluki crosses have good feet .but yes a high percentage will have ..but you stil have to take care off them like any other breed...my dogs feet get bruised like any other would running on rough ground.. so will the dogs in the far east....wash them and take of them everytime you have been out ...if my dog has had an hard day..and his feet have took a battering we wash them at a farm or keepers house or where ever we can with a hose pipe .,..then on the way home near where i live me and another lad of here stand the dogs in a river near us for 20 mins or so in shallow but fast flowing water ....because of the sort of land we run on.. soil mud ect goes into there quicks ...and can get infected ...its happened to me a couple of times ....and when i get home i will bathe them in dettol and salt water to help prevent infection..but like all breeds again road work helps to harden the pads...and get them prepared for the season ahead ...
