stud fee how do they work in your eyes?

Recommended Posts

like above stud fees and how honest would you be? if you are offered the chance to use a dog for the price of a pup or a fee when the pups are born. how do you play it if there is one pup, keep the pup and pay the fee, or would you give the person the pup, .....baffles me, hows it work in your eyes?

i had the same dilemama a year ago when my bitch had a litter and she lost 8/9 and he wanted pick of the litter cause he wanted somthing back of he old dog and might have the chance breeding again ,but it was very hard as me and my missus had 2 hand rearer it and she was admint that pup was going nowere ,so me and the bloke descided when he was older and if he made the grade he just get free stud as i could breed repeat the mateing anyway as that bitch got spaded ,it could of been a lot more messed up

id take pick of the litter but i take £50 down when they tie and then when you go for the pup give the £50 back.

this way if its someone you dont 100% trust / know then atleast you've had something.

also you cant class a bitch having 1 or 2 pups as a litter.

id say she would have to have atleast 3 pups before i decide to take pick of the litter £50 if more then a fair price.

never no more then £100.

id give a free stud to people i know... if there was a nice pup out of the litter id take it for the price of the injections if already done if not for free... but id expect a few drinks if i didnt take a pup...and give a few drinks if i did take one

if there was only one pup alive ... work out who needs it more .. eg if it was an old stud dog and the lad wanted to keep the blood and yours was a bitch that was able to have another litter let him take the pup and vice versa...

That's what I would do. Take a few beers if I didn't need a pup or pick of litter if I did need one. If I wanted a dog to stud to my bitch then I would agree a price before they tie and pay when they do. I would allow the owner to have pick of the litter if he returns the fee I gave him. If the bitch doesn't get pregnant then what happens with the fee would be agreed with the dog owner before they tie. I would probably pay £50-100 stud fee maybe more if the dog was something really special.

The main thing is to get everything agreed before hand and maybe written down if you aren't sure the other owner is a man/women of their word.

Stick to between mates.... No fee... Pup if you need one...there shouldn't be any surplus pups left if the dog and bitch are right...If only one pup, your mates will understand and give to the one who really needs it... Or if you need it yourself keep it.

It only gets complicated when money is involved !
