inan 841
hi all, this post is about the most shocking and upsetting thing i have ever heard! ok, so me and scott were on out new pigeon permission which is at a stable. the owner told us he expected some negative rections but to take no notice of it. we understood and found that most people were happy for us to be there. it was going well and we were getting possitive rections. then out of the blue, a woman walked up to us and decided to put her pennies worth in. the conversation went like this: her - i just wanted to say that you two are decusting human beings, your pathetic for killing pigeons! us - i completely understand your point of view, however we've been tasked by the farm owner to dispatch the pigeons. her - your disgusting, if you want to shoot shit, join the army. us - i am in the army (because i am) her - well i hope you get shot in afghan then. us - excuse me, i lost 10 friends out there please have respect. (she walked off) her- good! as she walked off! i am a tolerant and disilplined person who doesnt rise to stuff. however,, that one of those low things to say that put me in a sate. we decided to be adult and walk off. as we cracked on and ignoring / avoiding them.... they kept on walking past us and making comments such as "no wonder we're not winning the war in afghan with pricks like you!", " you missed a sparrow there", " pathetic"... and so on, i understand and would completely get why she migtht be upset but,the comments about my experience in agfghan was completely out of order. it hurt beyond belief and if it wasnt for my good mate scott i'm sure i would have taught them a lesson. it shocked me how some poeple could be so ignorant and insensative considering what we have sacrificed for this country. the feeloing it left me with was one of unapretiation and betrail. i felt like risking my life for 7 months was for nothing. and all my mates i lost were for nothing. i didn t think a person was capable of being so incensative. lesson learnt... You are talking to a closed mind there ,and for her to say such a disgusting and insensitive thing , regardless of what her thoughts on the conflict might be , means that she is seriously unhinged as well. I had a strange experience once, that was not traumatic ,in fact it was rather funny. I was in a line with a group of coursing friends ,this was pre ban ,and we were members of a coursing club, the landowner was accompanying us ,he was also in the line , we were parallel to a side road , the judge officiating was a man in his 60's , walking slightly in front of the line, with the slipper, an old gent,[70/75] came into sight, he was walking a jack russell on a lead ,when he drew abreast of the judge he began yelling out, "you are all vermin", the mild mannered judge tried to ignore him but this seemed to enrage the old fellow more ,at last he could stand it no more and ,letting go of his dog he rushed onto the field, and launched himself at the judge, they both fell to the ground ,he with his shaky old mitts around the judges neck, all the while shouting abuse at him. The judge extricated himself as well as he could without hurting the old fella, who promptly shouted he would report us to the land owner ,who then introduced himself and told him to f**k off.Nothing as nasty as your experience, but quite hair raising,[no pun intended] well,at least for the judge. Born Hunter 17,751
You did very well to hold ya tongue fella. If I were you I would have told her exactly what I thought of her as soon as she started getting disrespectfull. Ive been in a similar situation before with a busy body thinking she had power beyond her position, up shot of it is I phoned the keeper passed the phone over and she was told where to go. Always worth being polite as you were though, well done! Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Hi Alex. What a charming lady! There is a public nature trail next to part of my permission, with just a small fence between and I've had a few run-ins with women like this myself in recent years. I just smile and say nothing but turn my back, shoulder my rifle and walk away. They hate nothing more than being dismissed and ignored, and, you have given them nothing personal to use against you. They just collapse into their own madness! Just ignore this sort of garbage in silence Alex, it does far more than trying to argue reason with barking mad women. I can well sympathise with how you feel mate but, trust me, there's a lot more people in this little Island of ours who still say a little daily prayer for the safekeeping of all you lads and the girls who serve today, than there are these little raghead-hugging traitors. This is just a tree hugging bag of shit who wouldn't know what service and country before self meant, if her life depended on it. And her remarks make her an enemy sympathiser and a traitor in my book. You did the right thing and not let your anger through and that alone makes you the better person. She's nothing, a nobody who stands for nothing worth a shit, so pay no heed and don't let this filth live rent-free in your mind. Simon 1 Quote Link to post

Roy64 3
Best thing you can do is remain very calm, polite, unload guns and pop em in slips and don't react to her baiting. Once the nasty murdering man with the gun says anything threatening or vaguely intimidating mad cows like that will be on the blower to the old bill, wailing that a dangerous man with a massive sniper machine gun has pointed the gun at them and threatened to blow their head off etc. It boils their piss even more if you remain polite and calm in the face of their deranged ranting. Agree 100% with your comment, give them nothing else to complain about and exaggerate + have a word with land owner if she is a patron to put her in the picture re legitimacy of removing pests etc...
