Nice head when was it shot ? My roe deer had cleaned their velvet by the start of March last year.

How did you preserve the velvet on your trophies fellas? Do you need to use any special chemicals/processes?

You must be shooting VERY early as they are still

well in velvet the bucks i shoot are all clean in the

first week in april which is the start of the season

yea right enough, if your after a trophy i would have thought you would wait till

the velvets off and correct me if im wrong but if it was medal potential do you get more points for it

colouring after its pale immediately after velvet. but then again im sure in scotland you can shoot them whenever as long as its something to do with crop damage or the likes.well done anyway whatever your reasons

An out of season license is required for Roe deer chay.Unlike Red deer when you have crop damage you can shoot them out of season.

Hense the reason me asking him when it was shot because all my bucks had cleaned their velvet by March

it was shot early april last years, but as you no everything i must have shot it out of season NOT, ive seen bucks get culled off peg and guns land in velvet many a times in early april but i must be lying again when im told a buck is causing damage and IT IS buck season ill cull it as soon as i get the chance im not bothered about gold medal thats just me so why cant some people keep there mouth shut or go on another site,because this bickering is a load of bollocks
