Tomm Parr 30
Turns into one of these. seen a few of these about hanging round the outside lights comanche. Do they do any damage when they turn into beetles? They can be a problem as fully grown bugs: They can strip a bush or tree if there are no birds/bats to predate them (all the more reason to feed the birds and bats ). They do most damage as larvae (they stay as grubs for 2 or 3 years) if there are lots of them in the soil: They eat holes through the roots of shrubs. I've heard that moles eat them mind you..... Not that i'm advocating encouraging moles of course... Main problem is that you never know how many are in the soil until you dig it all up!
