JPTfellterrier 65
I've said it before and I will say it again. A good dog is a best friend, a pot filler and a pest controller...and as long as you are happy who cares? so everyone that has a dog on here all of them are goodn s there is a difference between being happy with your dog and having a good dog atb ks If you are happy with it then who the f**k cares? If someones in the game for the bragging rights they shouldnt be in the game at all Quote Link to post
leegreen 2,210
A good dog is one that you buy and make into a great dog. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
All the philosophical 'it's what it means to you' bull shit aside. For me a good dog has - A good nose. Good feet. Deep chest and good wind. Good acceleration. Decent recovery. Good stamina. Brains. High prey drive. Good strike. Turns well. Fairly decent biddability. Can hunt like a f****r. And one that i get on with. And of course that is all "for it's breed and size" i.e i would want a whippet to have good stamina in comparison to other whippets, accepting that it's not going to have as good or better stamina than a saluki. Just there is a difference between a 'good dog' and a 'good dog to you'. While we might all have slightly different needs, desires and standards, there is a basic starting point with a running dog.
