The_Oakster 2
Application completed, money taken out, referees contacted, visit completed, land passed and cabinet installed and checked Now its time to find what to get when the FAC arrives. I have applied for .22 for vermin control (I have permissions that are mostly rabbits rather than birds) and my local gunshop has a few second hand ones here. I am guessing it's a lot of personal choice, money and actually seeing the weapon in the shop but could someone take a look at them and let me know which would be worth looking at and which ones to avoid? I am interested in the "Ruger 10-22" £285, The "CZ .22 Bolt Action Rifle" £245 and the "Anschutz .22RF Bolt Action Rifle" for £275 based on what I have read or been told on here already. There is also a BSA, Marlin and Brno available. If I trawl the internet it's as easy to find a review to say they are all rubbish as it is to find a good one. Just to add some further views to the mix - What do you all think? Quote Link to post

nod 285
unless i knew who had the rifle before me and roughly how many shots it had had, i wouldnt buy second hand rifle, especially the older models, i know a keeper who changes his .22 every 5 years for a new one in that time he probaly shoots 50,000 rounds through it, you can pick up new cz fairly cheap and they aint bad rifles if you have the little bit extra money buy new, Quote Link to post
