Well done ITV

Recommended Posts

Just watched a segment on ITVs Countrywise about a moorland gamekeeper in the Yorkshire dales. He mentioned conservation management including (whisper it) predator control, the employment shooting brings to the countryside and they even showed him carrying a gun!

On the other hand Countryfile on the BBC on Sunday had a segment on training gundogs without mentioning shooting.

Well done ITV.

Country file is a long running joke.

 It should be called 'Ramblers weekly' or something, because that's about all it's got to do with the countryside these days...

One of my favourite programmes used to be Country Ways on Meridian (not sure if they had other "local" versions of it in different areas). However, I've not seen it for a few years; maybe Countrywise is the newly re-branded nationwide version of it. :hmm:

In the last series (of Country Ways) there was an episode from near Slimbridge which featured a gamekeeper with the usual gundogs as well as a bull x greyhound (or at least it looked like one).
