gunner410 0 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 Just had lurcher to vet and he has had to have bit of his tail amputated, can anyone tell me if this will spoil him for hunting. Never had this happen before. Dont want to lose a bloody good dog. Anybody had this happen and what was the effect on dog, please. Quote Link to post

I've had greyhounds with half a tail and also seen others and it hasn't affected their performance. Quote Link to post
graham4877 1,181 Posted April 12, 2011 Report Share Posted April 12, 2011 My mates big dogs tail is shorter than my springer and he runs just fine! and the bitch he has, has just had 6" off aswell but will not be running till next year now! they ajust with oyt it! but don't think you can take the dog out on 1st night and it will be same dog or running stile!
