to be fair a lot of saluki lurcher you would not dream of trying to train. iv raised two from diffrent liters exactlie the same. one wouldnt leave your side the other would get you locked up, unless

I wouldn't give them kennel space mate. Everyone I've ever seen has been average at best. But I'm sure like everything else, there will be good and bad........ I usually avoid things in life where mon

Iv got a bitch breed purlie from coursing stock, She is a very good bitch with long net and ferret, marks 100%, soft mouthed and takes most rabbits 5 to 10 feet from the holes. not a good retreiver

i have no pup at the moment, but thanks.

Dont listen to rubbish from people who dont keep them ! There are many different lines and they cant all be lumped together. Some are as bidable and trainable as any other type of lurcher ,you need to get a pup out of that kind of stuff

So you need to get a pup from a certain line for them to be bidable :icon_eek: hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I can smell money :hmm: Expect 2 dozen pms good man............ :whistling:

Whats wrong with different lines having different qualities !? Dont sell dogs !!

Nothing wrong with it, but I'd expect a dog being bidable and trainable as one of the lowest qualities, wouldn't you? The actual thought there ardogs being bred that can't be trained is f*****g laughable.

They can all be trained , it depends on the degree of trainig your talking about. I dont know what kind of lurcher work you do other than run a few hares in small fields, but if you choose to dismiss modern coursing dogs as rubbish , you are missing out big time . Do you think we re all wrong !?

Tell me then, what level of training does a fen dog need compared to a running dog in Scotland? You lot have it easy with your point and shoot muts......... We hunt mate, i know thats a concept you guys find hard to grasp but look it up, it'll open a whole new way of life to you

I hunt rabbits every day of the week, not a great deal of training is needed other than recall, stock breaking etc .One of my bitches is, like the others in her line, 100% natural retriever who will consistantly hunt, mark, catch and carry live back to hand no matter how many other dogs are around her .I have recently retired a coursing bred lamping bitch due to injury .She was as good, and as discaplined on the lamp as any non saluki! bred dog i have ever owned .They kill hares in paddocks and on the biggest fens when i do decide to point and shoot !
