saluki coursing dogs and their crosses?

Recommended Posts

Is raising a saluki cross coursing pup hard. do they go deaf when you try training them to come back to you?

if any coursing folk out their could share their experiences pre ban on how its like bringing them on, are they hard work and when eventually they are coursing do they come back each time or is it a case of trying to catch them?

thanks.

i have no pup at the moment, but thanks.

Dont listen to rubbish from people who dont keep them ! There are many different lines and they cant all be lumped together. Some are as bidable and trainable as any other type of lurcher ,you need to get a pup out of that kind of stuff

So you need to get a pup from a certain line for them to be bidable :icon_eek: hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I can smell money :hmm: Expect 2 dozen pms good man............ :whistling:

Nothing wrong with it, but I'd expect a dog being bidable and trainable as one of the lowest qualities, wouldn't you? The actual thought there are dogs being bred that can't be trained is f*****g laughable.

I have a Saluki x Whippet, fast and silent but does tend to have selective hearing sometimes, she's not the brightest spark but we are getting there. My last lurcher was whippet x jack russell, now she was 10 times more intelligent than this one but still had selective hearing occasionally, but I could live with that as most of the time she was spot on
