Fished Muckno yesterday and we managed to land three pike, biggest was 11 on the nose, not bad for the day that was in it.

Thats great hope its fishing well. Need to get out soon have not fished it for a few weeks now. I often hear people saying and have seen on some websites that muckno is the best coarse fishery in europe. Is it really and how good is it. Its great to have a great lake very close to my home. I look forward to hearing your views.

It didn't fish well today. My brother fished the White Island and blanked. There were plenty fishing and no one catching.

As for being a great lake ?

A few years back I caught a big bag of skimmers from the pic-nic area (the wife and kids were with me) and there was people actually swimming in my swim. It was a fish a cast on the waggler. My brother was up the bank with no swimmers and got a slab a cast.

Another time a friend caught a 28lb pike on his first piking trip.

Defo holds some really large pike, and its fishig really well at the moment, the section just below the gold course is fishing well, Concra Woods.

 

I have taken 100 pluse bags of bream from this water, serious course fishing to be had.

 

I am off to fish a wee lake in Cavn tomorrow, shall report back.

thats good a few years ago i caught a 23lb pike at muckno. out of interest what is the rules about fishing of the golf course are you allowed at specific areas are what.

haven't fished it in a few years, but best day was nine, all caught trolling with large buck-tails, none really big, biggest about 10lbs, good craic though.
