Kenneling Arrangements

Recommended Posts

Still being relatively new to the dog world and especially kenneling dogs outside, I am just wondering what peoples kennelling arrangements are when they have multiple dogs? Especially of mixed types, ie lurchers, terriers, gundogs etc.

Do you tend to keep only bitches for ease? Do you keep both and always spay the bitches? Are all dogs kennelled in separate kennels and enclosures regardless? Do some of your dogs kennel together but have to be separated when bitch is in season?

Just looking for ideas for the future.

Cheers

And i'll add - never kennel a terrier and lurcher permanently together. ONe day you will wake up to a dead terrier.

My patt bitch is kennelled with a 3/8 5/8 bull dog and there mint together I am splitting them up soon but I think your problems only lie when food is concerned

I wouldn't take the chance. It is too easy to be complacent and then one day for no obvious reason there will be a war and you will not be there to intervene......

I know what your saying mate and many dogs are kept together fine, but then again, many dogs that have been kept together for years, one day ruck. It's usually the terrier that starts it and the lurcher that finishes it. Not worth the risk imo.
