rabbits, thinking of planting some

thinking of planting some. what kind of cycle are they on? the cottontails are generally on a 7 year cycle. how do they handle dry semi desert environments? what are the keys to population growth and stability? can't remove raptors so how do i minimize their effects? how many per acre of thin dry scrub & grass to get a good population going?

classed as agricultural pests here so its not the thing to do to introduce them to any area as its illegal .

thanks, didn't know that. may not be legal here either but the raptors are so numerous the native cottontails have been depressed for a couple of years and only getting worse. thought some european rabbits might be able to take the pressure off the natives especially if their cycles are offset.
