Lithium Ion 14 AH

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

My belt pack is just about goosed, and am thinking about a Lithium Ion 14AH battery, looks like a good deal from on here - anyone bought one from here? good or bad reviews, generally? I'm looking for one that will run a Lightforce for 3-4 hours.

Incidentally, for those interested, I've been using the laser genetics NV 350 for a few weeks now, and will write up a report as soon as I have time.

No its the standard one - the standard ND3X50. The only difference between the ND3x50 & the sub zero is a neoprene cover for the battery section. Scott Country have had the standard one in a freezer for an hour and it was still ok, however I've only used it to temperatures down to around +3c.

I'll get round to doing a write up soon - what I will say is for such small batteries, I cant believe the battery life. I reckon I've been out 6 or 7 times with it now, and despite intermittent use over say 4 hours at a time, its still on the first batteries.

Fireblade, leave the bike where it is and get that review of the NV350 published! I would imagine there's a lot like myself interested in your findings

lol - I'm on the case, will be up tonight...

What about Lithium Ions then?

All I can say on the lithium is, once you've bought one you'll never go back! I to was toying with the idea of ordering the one off this site but as my lead acid battery's have always been 17ah I was hesitant to go lower. I went for a 22ah lithium it was expensive but still extremely light and runs forever. Since buying the 22ah I wouldn't hesitate going for a 14ah especially as you are only scanning with it. Go for it you don't hardly know your carrying it.I stick mine on my belt next to a foxpro caller and together it's less than half the weight of the 17ah I used to carry in a rucksack.A lot just carry them in their pocket. As has been said many times by others, 'if it went kaput tomorrow Id go straight out and get another'. Only trouble is I dont know anything about buying off the forum but I would think it's as safe as anywhere else.

Many thanks, I've more or less decided to buy one, it's the decision between 14 or 22 ah now !

Anyone got advice from buying from Hunting Life ? What about returns etc ?

i bought the 14ah and its spot on wouldn carry the old type battery again. put the lithium on my belt and i dont know its there.worth every penny and i bought mine out of the countrymans weekly it was on special offer for £140 i think from £180 (at the time last year) sure it would be a bit cheaper now

I doubt you'll need anything more than the 14ah but if you are at all concerned like I was and you did go for a 22ah they are still so light. I'd like to try a 14ah on my blitz all night but would imagine it would do it no problem at all. I've often got the lamp on for half hour periods just searching for the carcass of the fox as I mostly shoot rough ground so that's why I need the extra staying power.

Once youve had a Lithium battery you will never buy another , so light there unbelievable.

Well I'm struggling to get replies or info about buying on the site?

If anyone reads this & can advise, or help, please let me know

It's funny , I was in the exact same position. No one seemed to give me the nod to say it's safe so I just went and paid top price from deben to make sure. Blade no matter where you order it from I can assure you, you will never regret it!
