Just putting the feelers out...

Recommended Posts

I am considering putting a working cocker over my JRT bitch in 2-3 years.

It's only a thought at the moment and I've been told they make cracking bushing dogs. If a pup came up of the right breeding then I wouldn't bother having a litter off my bitch.

However, if I do go down the breeding route then how difficult would it be to locate someone willing to put there working cocker over my bitch?

Alot of the adverts I've seen elsewhere on the web state that they will only put there ftch dogs over similar bitches.

Would there be any lads on here willing to put a decent grafting cocker over a hard working, relentless littler terrier bitch?

If I get slated and told no then back to the drawing board. If I get a few lads saying they would then I know the option is there.

Thanks,

Gaz.

You may find that a lot of cocker owners will want a standard stud fee.

my whippet for example is £150 be it a whippet or a lurcher, bedlington etc.

so you could find yourself shelling out a lot of dosh, pity as the breeding could be a good idea.

im not well up on gun dogs or there crosses

Do you mean your whippet is £150 for a stud fee? Why?

Thanks BBB for the reply. I am certain the breeding will be a good one.

My worry was that lads with the decent cockers would want 500 notes stud fee or even not want to put there dog over a terrier.

However a lad off here as offered me a KC FTCH bred top quality cocker WORKING stud for a really reasonable price. In his own words "whats the point in me charging you full stud fee if the pups will only be worth £100".

So I'm really chuffed.
