oldmantanner 4
Just had problems with a lamb. The ewe is not bothered about the lambs and they have not been feeding as much as they should have been. She has not expelled all of the after birth , although she gave birth a few days ago. I have tubed the first born lamb, the weaker, by putting a tube down its throat and into its stomach and feeding it that way. It is now in a box in the kitchen in front of me, I am looking after it. it has gotten stronger since the feed and is moving and talking a little but it is not out of the woods let. chimp 299
how many lambs been lost to foxes and badgers so far? None so far, thank god! I did a lot of shooting before we started to lamb. Including the badgers, I would much rather have safe lambs and no badgers than dead lambs and live badgers, so i shot as many as i could find have i mis-read that ? you been shooting the badgers? I live cage trap them and any with tb are shot the rest are taken far away to be relocated. Lost the lamb today. He was not responding to having been tube fed colostrum and got weaker and weaker untill he passed away.

oldmantanner 4
Yes I do. However I am not prepared to watch the livestock that I have poured my life and soul into being killed by some pesky badgers. All of the farmers around my area are the same and most do just what I do. A friend of mine lost his entire cattle herd of over 200 cows to TB from badgers that were not even on his land. I think that the law regarding this particular matter are ridiculous. Surely our domesticated livestock are more valuable to us than a badger. Thats just my opinion and the opinion of my neighbouring farmers.
