Mate, I used to love playing the guitar, it was something I lived for when I was younger and I don't really know why I stopped. Kids and work and all that shite, I guess....

I had a Gibson SG made in 1968 that I'd had since I was 14 that I sold a couple of years back and I'm really wondering now why the hell I sold it.

Enjoy your music

I played flute and clarinet through school and college but when i took up the sax i found summat i loved. I played tenor sax in a big band for a few years, but work got in the way of my hobby. When you work 65+ hours a week, there's bugger all time left for hobbies. Sold my sax's but have regretted it many times since.

I've mentioned this before, but i'm currently learning the 5 string banjo. My tutor is an oddbod; a socks-and-sandals, beardy who exists in a '70s timewarp, but gawd he can play. He's ever so patient, but every now and then i think he reaches saturation point of my chronic mangling of the chords, and he'll drift off into a thirty second display of lightning fast virtuosity........and then he's back in the room :icon_redface:

I know this much; learning instruments was a piece of cake when i was young, but it's bloody heavy going now !

my passion

Nice beginners kit Al

Serious, what inch snare you using? Double kick bass player eh

I use to play a little drums and bass here and there.

 14" in the pic, the serious bit is Drum World UK (darker colour) and the red drums are a kit that I paid £40 for and the snare of this kit is 14.5 which I have used along with a tom and a crash cymbal (I had to drill it and loosely fit pop rivets to get some sort of effect...... loved by the USA) to help get a local primary school into the National Eisteddfod in Swansea in May of this year

Got a fender Jaguar as my main recording guitar and an epiphone les paul special II as my live one as its cheap so it doesnt matter if it gets banged about and best of al sounds great
