norfolk lurcher,

whilst out with my dogs earlier this guy was out with his terrier and lurcher ferreting , i stopped and spoke to him and he commented on my dogs , i asked what his lurcher was and he sed all he knows was its a norfolk lurcher and its his mates , its was a stunning looking dog , rough coated , dark brown in colour , and looked like it can do the buisness , what is a norfolk lurcher , breeding wise and are they decent ,

They've been extinked for years mate. They used to be bred by the drovers that used to dive stock from Norfolk to the slaughter houses in Smithfield London for poaching. They used to cross Smithfield collies with greyhounds but the Smithfield collie went the way of the dodo. They recon theres still strains going but they've been outcrossed so much the'r nothing like the real thing was.

mr burrells line his got more dogs inthem then the average mongrel

some in countrymans this week got the street accident and f booths

pure saluki surley the original norfolk/smithfeilds didnt have saluki in them :laugh:

I havnt laughed so hard in ages,
