Guest Dale Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 whilst out with my dogs earlier this guy was out with his terrier and lurcher ferreting , i stopped and spoke to him and he commented on my dogs , i asked what his lurcher was and he sed all he knows was its a norfolk lurcher and its his mates , its was a stunning looking dog , rough coated , dark brown in colour , and looked like it can do the buisness , what is a norfolk lurcher , breeding wise and are they decent , Dale Quote Link to post

They used to be bred by the drovers that used to dive stock from Norfolk to the slaughter houses in Smithfield London for poaching. They used to cross Smithfield collies with greyhounds but the Smithfield collie went the way of the dodo.
