Long netting season?

Recommended Posts

Have only used my longnet for ferreting for the last few years but want to have a go longnetting aT night on one of my permisions where it is difficult to shoot the bunnies.

I read on one of the threads that it is getting to the end of the season. Why is this? What are the problems with longnetting in spring/summer?

Any advice much appreciated.

Apart from killing the breeding game of the winter? you kill 1 pregnant or lactating doe, your killing 5/6 rabbits next year x that by 10 and well your losing 60 rabbits in the ferreting season approximately.

no need to dig when night time longneting, only dig in the day if your ferret stays down. theres no ferrets at night you walk the field for the bunnys sat out
