Hi Mike shes still a pup build her trust and get her coming when called and retrieving a tennis ball etc for now.Let her mature and dont be in no rush to start or you might get a yapper. When you think shes ready 10 months at least for me even with a quick maturing dog like a whippet try and find a nice squatter out in the field and stalk her as close as you can when it makes a run slip her and cross your fingers

Take your time pal.. Train as you would like !!obedience is key dont show the pup nothing until its doing what you want elsewhere your life will be 100% easier these dogs are born to chase and rarely need encouragement loads of praise etc when its doin what you want itll come good!!

hi mate had same thing with mine when young, tie a piece of string around your dummy and when she drops it give it a shake to get her interest back whilst calling her all the time its in her mouth. give her loads of praise when she get back to you with it. all the best

hello mike when i train my lurcher pups on the lamp i like to leave them on the lead till i find a few sitters then i walk the dog down to them keeping it on the lead and make the rabbit move before you slip the dog then once the dog see's the rabbit move let it go you should only need to do this 5 or 10 times before the dog starts to click on that it needs to run down the beam to get to the rabbit. i dont train my dogs to retrive but iv been really lucky with my last two lurchers as they both have retrived to hand. i would'nt start your dog coursing till its about 9 to 10 months old because to early and you could ruin the dog i hope iv been some help. good luck
