Now the hot weather is here ...

Remember your ferrets need to be kept cool and in the shade , i've just put up some sun brollies and moved the hutches round so they are not too exposed during the hottest part of the day !

Quite right, heat and ferrets don't mix well. I fill some empty coke bottles with water and freeze them, stick them in with the ferrets bedding to help keep them cool. Also make 'milk cubes' or freeze some cubes of mince to help keep them occupied and cool during the hot hours.

Thanks for reminding us all!

Its down to training Phil. I start mine as kits by letting them run through bits of drainpipe. By moving on to sections of 1 and 1/4 inch downpipe they get the idea of squeezing through smaller diameter tubes . The next stage is to use drinking straws (obviously not those bendy novelty ones that come all twisted into bizarre shapes . That would just be silly .) Simply insert the straws into coke bottles and the ferrets do the rest.... :whistling:

i find warming the neck of the bottle up with some boiling water will also make this a lot easier, bit more give and you can stretch the the openening up a bit more :whistling::thumbs:
