The one 8,529
We where out on Tuesday trying to to a very rough bit of ground i had enough after two hours soaked threw and no rabbits , then Wednesday out bushing with the mutts and saw six rabbits two pheasants and two partridges got soaked again for no rabbits .Today we went to do a garden and we got the first rabbit under a hedge after taking a load of hedge cuttings out a hole and pulling it out then a half grown one bolted into a net ,then the ferrets just kept going round and round the burrow at 5 /7 foot and wouldn't settle to get a mark on them . After trying the rest of the hedge i went to a wee horse paddock and the wheel kept spinning round on my locator box while i walked back to the car for a screwdriver my son got my Jill out . We them did a few burrows and ended up with six rabbits . But my hearts on in it now after the best year numbers wise theres five of us going out on Sunday then it will be lamping till the cover gets too high Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Aye mate the running in circles is probably them chasing a half dozen kits about, going from one to the next, not bolting them, it's a f****r, and why i stop, the little b*****ds don't bolt and if they do they just sit by the whole until old snapper comes out and drags them back down to the depths. Sorley x 32
Stopped a few weeks ago, did go out again as a favour to a farmer and it was as I thought it was going to be - a waste of time. I always say I finish each season when it becomes a chore and not a pleasure. Always seems to be about the same time each year - early march in this part of the world. Quote Link to post
