Recommended Posts

a falconer told me today that there is a law laid down by henry the 8th that states no falconer can be stopped if hunting on land they do not have permission on, but he said it is illegal to take game off the land, he went on to say that if you get a game licence the above problem then becomes legal, is this true? did i make sense :icon_eek: ?

I do historic falconry and i havent heard of this and i cant' find anything relating to it..Laws where changed by Henry 8th to make it easier for him to hunt.Falconry was a very big thing to him and he often missed Court to take part in the sport. He also nearly died out Hawking when he fell in a dyke!

I know some years back a couple of lads got caught on the local estate poaching with birds of prey and got carted of to the police station how ever no charges were brought as they had no game in their possesion though [bANNED TEXT] they got back to their van some one had broken into it and stole their finnish gos but was found months later in the derbyshire staffs border the same area one of the keepers was from who caught them.
