spike25blue 55
Hi buddy you are within your rights to trim the tree that overhangs your garden and throw it over the fence to the land where the tree is located the only birds you will be able to shoot under public health is feral pigeons hope this helps Atb rob Quote Link to post
andy r 0
We are over run with seagulls all building nests on the roof tops around us, who then swoop when you go out in the garden............protected species though !! so cant do anything about them Quote Link to post
Alex Arrigone 24
hey mate i have always found that it can be a touchy subject shooting birds in your back garden. i did it for about a week and found that my neighbours we'rnt too impressed so i stopped. you dont want people causing you problems so close to home. i tend to just to the occational check zero now. i'd say ,unless you dont have neighbours , back yerd shooting is a no go. atb alex Quote Link to post
lurchermania 25
I'm not sure what you would do mate but if you put a copper nail in a tree it will die but don't do that of course Quote Link to post

masmiffy 82
How big is the tree? If its not huge then a ring of copper nails driven itno the trunk low down will do it no good at all :whistling: Or if you do 'trim' the branches paint the cut ends with roundup and diesel :whistling: Edited April 26, 2011 by masmiffy Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
How big is the tree? If its not huge then a ring of copper nails driven itno the trunk low down will do it no good at all :whistling: Or if you do 'trim' the branches paint the cut ends with roundup and diesel :whistling: And then the tree falls down, maybe onto your house, maybe somewhere else. You're going to feel a right charlie if you end up totalling your house because of a few birds! Doing anything to harm the tree is pretty silly, and I get the feeling the OP is more sensible than that. Quote Link to post

BIG ZOOK 5
as for the tree....you can, chop off the overhaning branches and put them in the field as they belong to the farmer....it you dont it becomes stealing and you may face charges. cheers sean NOT quite mate you have to offer the offending branches ,back to their legal owner if the owner does not want them, then YOU have to dispose of the waste,if you dump them back on the farm, against the farmers wishes, then it`s flytipping and you`re in the wrong. 28hodge 0
Hmmm, why not put some decoys in your garden, then when the corvids and Pigeon land in the tree they "May" decide to come investigate in your garden, allowing you to shoot them quite legally in your own garden, this is kinda assuming that your garden has a stone, brick wall between it and the field with the tree to use as a backstop. Otherwise you still face the same problem if you do miss with the pallet able to freely pass into land where you have no permission to shoot. Quote Link to post
