ok, things have changed a bit since i bought course tackle, can any one bring me up to date?

 

stuff like line sold by diameter, pole elastics, even the weights are weirdly numbered lol...whats the crack with pole float 'weights etc...do the shots/styles run in double the size each next size up? etc etc..

 

what pole and rod makers are the the in thing etc...oh yus, the full monty?

 

 

had a wee go on a carpy pond tuther day, had to reset the guys rig and banged a few gobbers that were plaguing the swim, since then izza getting the itch again.(turned up some small crutians that they didnt know were in too..big enough to ping a weight or to lol so some things never change.)

 

 

p.s a no/ 10 shot was the new thing last time i went...they actualy went on the line without cutting with a bit of careful bite nouse lol.

if any bodies wandering why the narmal split shot isnt strickly halfed or doubled, its a very old thing to allow you get the inbetween weight desired, that you wouldnt get narmaly, e.g. swopping one 'bigger weight' for two smaller rarely gets the exact equivelent (slightly more narmaly), but on a float tip it does tend to get the tip where you want it in the water instead of settling for 'what you can have'.... used to make a big difference.....

 

now to suss elastic size into pound line lol...eeeeeeee...........
