i asked my girlfriend to get me a sack of dog food from the pet shop but she forgot the name of the dog food i normally use she told the pet shop it was for a workin lurcher and he sold her a sack of red mills racer.the dog is lookin in great condition but it gives him so much energy its drives him absolutely nuts. hes ripping the shed about,an just beeing hypa. now tha i aint working him so much is it the high protien content in the red mills that is doing this to him. and he needs more work to burn up his energy, an the dog is a 20 month weetan/grey x bull/saluki/wippet

Might be the high protein especially if he's not doing as much. What's the protein percentage. Go half and half with something with less protein content in it. Never used Red Mills myself have heard it cam make their stools a bit loose???

Oh - forgot to add that I once asked my ex-wife to pick up a bag of Gain 28 at the pet store. And told her that if they didn't have Gain 28 to get something else instead and she came home with a f*****g gerbil??? Yeah get your own dog food mate - safer that way???

I would say the dog is getting far to much protein,if your not burning it off him with a lot of work or exercise he,ll certainly be jumping out his skin.It can also have the opposite effect on his skin and coat leading to serious itching and lose of hair.

I tried it a few years ago as my dad used to sell it as he had an animal feed business , my dogs went out of control and after a nights lamping they were like a toastrack !!! Its ok for a greyhound that needs explosive speed for a short time but you need more substance in a lurcher , ive fed raw for 4 years now and wouldnt go back to complete feeds .
