Del_91 0
I've been shooting for 6 years now and Im still using the first shotgun I bought ( a 12bore U/O bettinsoli). I've decided to buy a semi auto as it would be much better suited to the general shooting I do. Im probably going to get a second hand one as I'm in college at the moment and have other things to be spending on. I've asked around at home but the older lads dont really know to much about them or are more concerned with trap shooting. If anyone could advise a good semi auto and the laws concerning them here in Ireland that would be great or if you know any good gunshops around that do good deals that would be great. all advice is welcome Thanks Del_91 Quote Link to post

JohnGalway 1,043
Benelli for me as well, if you can afford it (I can't lol). John Lambert in Camolin in Wexford get's consistent good reports. Paul O'Halloran in Drangan in Tipp as well. There are a few around. Two carts in the mag and one in the chamber is a normal license. Above that is restricted and you'd need to plug the magazine or apply for a restricted license to the Chief Superintendent of the district. Pistol grip is another restricted license item. Some light reading to the right hand side of >this< page Boards.ie has a good shooting section (waits for Sounder to read that bit ) 2 Quote Link to post
activeviii 8
Beretta urika II. as long as you give it a quick clean every 500-1000 carts then it will works as you need, if you have the kick-off then you can do 1000 carts a day without a sore shoulder. trigger is at front of the guard so its one movement with no fumbling. if i had one problem then it would be the weight but then i like it as it makes you swing thought a chased bird. Benelli, well, no thank you. a good friend has had two now and both have had a problem, the bolt not twist locking so the firing pin will not reach primer, carts getting stuck on second cart cycle. the safety is on the back of the trigger guard so you have to double move the hand which wastes time. i just dont like what i have seen on two of there semi's, two differant makes but both new. 1 Quote Link to post
