MagyarAgar 88
looks like a belgian blue It is the same gene defect. These animals are myostatin deficient. There is a study of whippets were they showed that race champions have often the allele configuration of normal/deficient. The normal/deficient type of whippets is more muscular then normal/normal. I think this pic is from the study: Cheers Magyar Agar Edited April 5, 2011 by MagyarAgar Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,211
erm....photoshop No, it's not photoshopped, it's just an extreme example of double muscled whippet. They crop up quite regularly in non-ped Whippets; I've had two over the years, one by Red Baron out of a Greyhound bitch and one by Haymaker out of a half x grew. There is one running at my local track just now, it's litter sister is only 18lb and looks like a pedigree !!. The same dog can run well though ! They are obviously some sort of throwback or genetic mutation between the non-ped Whippet and the Greyhound ! Cheers. Quote Link to post
