There's a lot of genuinely disabled people and I don't mind contributing my share to support them, but they'e well outnumbered by the lazy idle gits who pretend to be ill. Another point some of these folk have been on benefits right through times when there were jobs and didn't take them, so tough shit the pigeons have come home to roost and the system is getting a well needed kick up the arse. I started working in a bus garage in 1978 and there were a lot of disabled people, genuinely disabled, I can remember two who had hunchbacks, people with one eye etc, i'll tell you what they also had, self respect and the want to prove they were as capable as the next man (and they were) something totally lacking in todays society.

I agree in it should be made harder to get a disability benefit because i spke to a bloke who bragged about being on dla simply because he set fire to himself & claimed he was disabled as in no employer would touch him with that on his record & they gave it him
judge2010 196
Theres plenty of work out there but some people are to up themselves to do it.
shepp 2,285
That's true Judge, some people think they are above doing what they consider menial tasks and it's more often the so called working classes with this attitude. That's one of the reasons why 9 out of 10 jobs created during the Labour years were taken by foreigners. When I go to my local McDonalds the staff are all indians, just opposite is a council estate full of work shy parasites, obviously all the chavs feel serving burgers is below them. I say stop the useless cu.nts benefits, then that may concentrate the mind a little when it comes to finding work! As for disability scroungers. A bloke phoned up a talk radio station some weeks ago and spoke about his inlaws. Apparently the father inlaw is on disability benefits for depression and is wife claims as his carer, the pair of useless parasites get on top of the disability allowances, mobility, rent and bills payed, free prescriptions, the list goes on. The bloke has fu.ck all wrong with him! The couple have just made a career out of milking the system out of our hard earned taxes! foxfan 479
It saddens me to see peoples anger directed at the poorest in society, because they think they are getting something for nothing, people on benefits are not living the life of riley despite what the 'sun' says. I think they get about £50 quid a week, thats about what an MP spends on lunch ! Succesive govnts have alowed mass immigration which has now all but ended the welfare state, perhaps that was the aim ? We are told we must make cuts, and yet they can find money (our money) to spend- 7 billion to bail out ireland 6 billion to bail out portugal 26 billion per year foriegn aid 50 million per DAY to the EU (plus billions in fines for unmet directives) Funding illegal and immoral wars in Libya Afghanistan Iraq Think about it. whos realy taking the piss here ?
mossyh07 64
I've just flicked through the thread and noticed none of the site bums/layabouts have anything to say on this matter. I've alot of friends who have had to leave Ireland to go to Austrailia, the U.K and America to find work and as far as i cant gather if your willing to work theres plenty to be done. All you hear with these lads is excuse after excuse.
