mackay 3,400
Well there's to be an overhaul of the incapacity benefit as of today, of the 1.5 million (yes you read it right) they reckon a third could be knocked off it. Bring it on, the days where men lay on their sides in coal seams or injured themselves in heavy industry have gone to be replaced by spongers who have acne or a fear of getting on buses, total spongers bleeding the country dry. No doubt we'll have some defending them, but a move for the better in my opinion.

I will say some of them deserve to get incapacity but I don't personally know anyone receiving it as far as I am aware. I imagine that like anything if people can take advantage then there will always be some that will. If it actually saves money I am all for it. Hopefully it will cost less in administration to reassess these people than what they would be claiming if they didn't bother.

Don't forget that half those false claimers are workshy layabouts lurking with big badly socialised status dogs (giving other dogs and dog-owners a bad name). My mate's wife is from Canada and she thought we were joking about all the benefits on offer in this country. Bring back national service: A year in the forces, or a year at the local council/government offices. Why not? Edited April 4, 2011 by Tomm Parr

Strong Stuff 2,171
I f.ucking HATE scroungers!!!! Am proud to say I've never claimed a penny off the state in my 45 years. More than some off here can say!
Mooch. 177
I've only ever paid money to the the state and never claimed a penny back. It'd be nice to know my money is doing something good other than keeping some work-shy scrounger in fags.
arcticgun 4,548
about time they sorted this out properly , shame they choose to do it when there is not really any jobs for those that want to work , never mind the lazy twats Those who have become unemployable through years of claiming benefits should be made to contribute 30 hrs per week to the local community, maybe shopping for an old person, cleaning, gardening etc to earn stamps to pay rent and feed themselves and there family, I don't thonk money should be an option for longterm unemployed, too easy to spend on drink, drugs and gambling, non of which will do them or there kids any good in the long run. I appreciate there are people who simply cannot work and Im pleased to contribute towards those that cannot, but I detest those that simply laugh at those who contribute,, by simply sitting on there arses with there hands out, jeremy kyle generation types lol, skunk stella, smack, domestic violence, child neglect,, violent crime, benefit frauds

BULLDOUG 199
Im all for this, it can work if theres enough support for the genuine sufferers i.e retraining for other jobs other that what they did before injury/illness as many will need it. I do wonder though how many illegal immigrants will be assessed, now were gonna be giving those who have lived here illegaly for ten years citisenship (good old british citisenship). Does this give us hope that maybe the flood gates are going to be pulled in a bit?? NO!! theyve been took off the hinges instead. Be nice to see the heart of this country beat again, but a realist will see theres more than a few cuts needed. ATB D

This is whole point. These people are on benefits because they don't want a job. 2 years of military service teaches you more than just how to fire a gun. Everyone I know that was in the forces is a well rounded, tidy and decent person. I imagine there are some twats that have been in the forces but you get a few twats everywhere. It does seem to set people up with the right attitude though. I never did join the army due to being young and in love. It's one of my biggest regrets. I would imagine most people on here don't actually want to work but they understand that they need to work.
