donky7 9 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Share Posted February 6, 2007 i presume then,, its not a valid version of windows........ you can thank yer "auto updates" for tellin microsoft that.. !!!!!!!! my advice to any user. turn it off...... spies are everywhere. basic advice to you marty...... if you can get on to save anything,, is back up, then format. reinstalling yer op/system, then turn off the updates. Yep, same thing happened to me, ended up forking out the dosh in the end though, just under a ton is a cheap version of Windows XP Pro that I can now access everything.......Al :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post Share on other sites

There you will find software to reset your Windows key. Get a windows key off one of your mates who has a genuine copy of windows - it's normally on a sticker somewhere on the computer> Type it in, let it validate it - then turn off windows update - wont have a problem again.
