Right, you're best off finding someone who knows what they are doing, has a bit of ground and is willing to take you out. Its the best way to learn and it'll save you making mistakes that could be avoided. Sounds like Stanleigh might be willing as long as you seem half sensible. Make sure your dog is obedient, safe round all livestock and reasonably fit.

Hey mate - you'd be better trying to hook up with someone in your area. Failing that buy a lamp and get out there. Windy dark night, down wind, walk up to likely looking rabbits and slip him when he sees them - they'll probably need to be hightailing it before he sees them!!!. You'll make mistakes and so will your wee dog. But the penny will drop and you'll never look back. Take care and good luck.
