scalesntails 118
Quite a few of these Chinese torches are far better than the traditional lamp and cost 10% of the price of the lamp. Thats without even considering the lamp battery cost. I have an 800 lumen torch I take out. Cost me about a tenner and is more than good enough. Less to carry and I don't have to waste 10 minutes every time I walk to my permission showing the police my written permission and explaining rabbits are legal quarry with dogs. scalesntails 118
The Chinese are way ahead on LED technology at the moment. Quality isn't great though but its good enough for a £10 torch. Quote Link to post

wuyang 513
I have a led lenser M14 ....http://www.zweibrueder.com/ENG/produkte/html_highperformance/html_Mserie/m14.php?id=m14, Its a very good bit of kit (top quality)......, but you can get others much cheaper which will do the same job. When i got mine delivered i switched it on in the living room in the day and didn't think that much too it, but really shocked me when i took it out at night.. . Mine takes 4 AA batteries....rechargable or normal. I think realistically good for about 150 yards, but will shine much futher. I cant believe nobody's designed a little led lamp yet. I also have a bosch 10.8v led torch for work, no where near the power of the led lenser, but nice little compact batteries to say there 10.8v lithium rechargables. You could do with a led lamp that runs on these batteries. Quote Link to post
flyboy 11
my cree 800 lumens torch arrived from china during the week and went out last night to try it ,and there is no way does it come any way near my striker plus the blue beam is a bollicks , Quote Link to post
davey 310
Ideal if you are just mooching about but blue light don't make them freeze like lamp does and they would be no good on big fields but worth the 18 quid including p&p from china Quote Link to post
Dan Outdoors 13
Led lenser, great covert torch in my opinion.. Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
I use a lenser P14, its ok for bits and pieces but no good for long runs and not a touch on a real lamp. It does have its uses though, handy for scouting bits of new ground and the odd close run. I reckon it would be good with the airgun too but i've not tried it yet. Quote Link to post
