hi buddy

take it to a gunsmith, ask him to remove it because you would like to service it your self!

then get him to chrono it to 11.4ftlbs.

as long as it leaves the gunsmith under the legal limit its not breaking any laws!

i had mine done last year, this allows me to service my rifle my self.and also keep a check on the ft/lbs.

it is not worth taking your air rifle above this,as accuracy goes all over the place.thats why we specially have F.A.C air rifles.also its breaking the law!

what do you value more??

PS its "Anti Tamper"

Regards

Davy

Dont do it, I would have a strong suspicion that doing so would ' come back and bite you' at some point in your life, its just not worth it. If you cant do what you want to do with your rifle as it is, then you need to practice at being a better marksman.

More power does not make a better shooter, practice and skill does.

hi marka

so you think its better to pay all the postage every year and service charge's to AA.

rather than do it your self for one time charge, as long as you know what you are doing.

Davey, Im all for self servicing if at all possible :D , The post was about removing the anti tamper, now this could mean one of 2 things:

Either removing the anti tamper bolt that covers the power adjuster port

Or removing the casting material in order to get to the 2 big allen key bolts

Now as most people dont know about the 2 big bolts and the anti tamper on them, and as most people who ask about anti tamper just want to mess around with the power, I have taken it to mean the anti tamper on the power adjuster.

As far as Im aware (ready to be corrected in Im wrong) there is no need to remove the anti tamper on the power adjuster for servicing, only the allen key bolt anti tamper, Im not going to describe this as Im sure you know which 2 bolts I mean.

I didnt say anything about being against self servicing or posting to AA etc, I was trying to be diplomatic to the kid, But bluntly I think he just wants to up the power and perhaps get caught it at some point and then get done for possesion of an unregistered illegal firearm with no FAC.

Cheers mate :D

i just took it that he needed it gone so if he did service the rifle he could chrono it an if need be adjust it back down to the legal limit, or the rifle is runnin in the lower 10 s and he would prefer the mid 11s? no point in going over over even too close to 12 unless your a fool. i suspect a large number of air arm s owners have chrono s and have felt the need to remove the AT shear bolt to do small adjustments to the power. and when you can legally buy crossbows and even catapults with a lot more power! its a daft regulation imposed on the air rifle manufacturers but they have to toe the line. this is my opinion and i am in no way saying wind your rifle past the legal limit but i do like mine at 11.4 to 11.6 on the pcps sweet spot.

For the Record - AT is not a Legal Requirement

It is a Manufactures issue - it's removal will Invalidate Warrenty

Having a Factory Fitted - Power Seal would not save you in court if found to

Exceed Sub 12FP rule if not on Ticket

They are set around 10.FP with their pellets as aware other makes can result in higher

power

If set Higher would result in them sealing it at a power which would make a Fire Arm

Most Dealer / Gunsmiths will not remove the Seal - as Air Arms will Strike them off Dealers network
