I had a reasonable small lurcher that took double figures on the lamp once myself.

little dogs struggle on the lamp they lack speed for long slips and stamina. mine are not giants at all 23-24, but a noveltie 18 inch bedlington whippet wont be a patch on a 23 - 24 - 25 inch lurcher.

I cant see why given the chance you wouldnt use a bigger lurcher, Im not knocking people but id be sick if a pup came up 19 that I wanted for lamping, at the end of the day thed fit in the same kennel and its not as if its the cost of food as your talking pennys.

I think the lamping pics of little dogs showing off a small handful of rabbits caught and an odd hare like its an echeivement speaks volumes. if I caught that amount id be disappointed at the dogs work, not get the camera out.

B del had a 22 inch bitch i had seal 22 mate she had a heart 2 big for her size TB was out with us one day they couldt belive her a big dog fox she would tackle anything and enjoy it i run beany because CS who owend beany was saying dels stuff were migets few years back now a cathness bitch run at trent power works bag full of hares and 19 rabbits 19 1/4 inchs mate IT DEFF WHATS IN THE TANK

small dogs struggle THATS NOT TRUE seen alot better ones that anit that big we no its wots in the tank

what im saying s.s is that given the choice and with a lot diffrent variety of game infront of them id be happier if a lurcher that came in at 23 upwards myself but if you get over 27 they start getting worse as a rabbitter.

some one told me the other day your little bitch can work, and my mate had a 21 inch bed whippet x saluki greyhound that took everything, and I mean every thing, but hes size always made hes job much harder and a big fallow was one thing he couldnt hold but hed try his best. "niger" was a freak but if he was 3 to 4 inch bigger with that heart in his chest he would have had an easier life and been better still.

Iv not seen your bitch but if she made another 3 or so inches dont you think that would have improved her?

Here's my 1st lurcher, 9 month old Whippet x Beddie greyhound/collie. 19tts. She's done growing now. Would have liked her to make a bit bigger but she is what she is.... Not sure if she'll have the speed for daytime rabbits????? Cheers  .
