INTERNET FORUMS AND HUNTING

Recommended Posts

Also where does the idea that if folk don't hunt, they don't like hunting. I know shit tons of people who have never hunted in their lives, but are very happy and supportive of it, as part of our heritage, tradition etc. These folk, quite rightly deplore pointless or needless cruelty, and have little time for thugs. It's these kind of folk who's minds are changed, who say 'well i'm all for it. . . . in theory, but now. . . .well, the types you get. . .etc etc etc'.

The world isn't HUNTERS vs ANTIS.

Most folk are neither, but still they dont like what is obviously needless suffering.

Fair does, I know plenty who dont hunt and are indifferent but I live in the country. I'd imagine, I maybe wrong, your average city guy doesn't approve of hunting.

Your opening question is proof you aren't intelligent enough to know when someone is talking to you, so yes, people like yourself do show us up as idiots   As for the forum, I don't think the publi

just ban stewie.

Same.   I'm not sure, your probably right, but i don't think most of them actually think about it, unless its rubbed in their face. I work with some folk from the city and while they may not be into

I'm not sure, your probably right, but i don't think most of them actually think about it, unless its rubbed in their face. I work with some folk from the city and while they may not be into it, and at the start of a conversation about hunting they are a bit against it, they usually have such a stupid idea of it, that if they are rational people and you and pleasant they turn around when they start to realise that they don't really have the right picture. It's the classic, well yes i'm opposed to the 'bad hunters' the ones that are cruel and do all these terrible things for fun and laugh about it, but then you seem ok and you eat what you kill, or kill what kills what you eat. . .. and you seem like a nice guy, and your ferrets cute, and your dogs got a waggy tail. . .. . and you seem to really love and be knowledgable about the country side and animals . . . .. . so i guess your ok, crack on.

Even had a vegan, hard core environmentalist/activist girlfriend for a few years, dreads, hippy friends the lot! And she was ok with what i did and would come fishing etc. Even ended up eating meat a few times, once she saw the whole idea behind it (i.e if more of us did this then you wouldn't have so much industrial farming etc / the need to manage the land) and came to see the natural, respectful nature of it.

Now if these folks just met /saw a succession of 'the idiots', doing what they do, and at the start of the conversation about hunting just got a load of abuse. . . . .. . i think they would maybe go from indifferent to anti.

And lets face it - 80% of those who wanted / voted for the ban, did so on a class war basis.

I personally think it does damage to the sport. I dont think the arguing and name calling makes us look bad. Because the anyone reading it would just think that the site is full of d!ckheads (wouldnt be far frmo the truth). I think the thing that does the damage is the blatent law breaking and pictures of smashed dogs that gets posted on here.

You can put it down as 'sharing a hunt' or whatever you want but half the time when someone comes on and writes 2 or 3 lines and then posts a close up picture of a marked up terrier or a lurcher stood over a fox or hare is nothing other than bragging! Sonme of the stuff posted on here is utter stupidity but people seem to think its ok if you write 'pre-ban' next to it

I can deal with the idiots that want to argue about who breeds the best terriers or what cross of lurcher is best but it really annoys me when you get idiots posting pictures of stuff that dont belong on a camera let alone posted on a OPEN forum. It just makes it so easy for the antis if they want to cause trouble.

Alot of people put way too much info on the internet about themselves. I have worked out who a good few people are just from reading what they have posted about their dogs, what they do for work, where they are from etc. Fair enough its up to you who knows what but remember anyone can read this forum.

Cheers
