bleachtastesnice 4
Right then, its payday tomorow and I am going to treat myself to a shiny new lamp, am going for a Lightforce Striker but carnt decide whether to get a standard one or go for variable power. I can see the Pro's of the variable eg saving battery life and using low light when sneeking about but having never used one I cant really rate them, any suggestions? What do you prefer and why? Cheers, Bleachtastesnice Quote Link to post

Strong Stuff 2,171
You'll be surprised at the tiny amount of light it needs to get eyes to shine. I had the striker variable, excellent lamp. 1 Quote Link to post

taffey 1,315
go for the variable power excellant bit of kit you can turn power up or down too not spook what your lamping i found it very handy for late season lampshy rabbits like the lad said very little light needed to make eyes shine you can turn up the power depending on how far away your chosen quarry is going away from you and you dont dazzle the dog if he comes heading towards you hope this helps 1 Quote Link to post

bleachtastesnice 4
Thanks alot for the replys, quality advice and my mind is made up, variable it is Now just thinking about what Fordie said about the Tracer over the Lightfore lamps Better the devil you know? Not one too grumble over a few quid but the sometimes big (More known or expensive) brand arnt always the better, had a mate get some off the 'Bisley' 4z purse nets over some home made's too save a few pound... Its more coin for the dogs at the end of the day, bit more fresh raw and juice for the car Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
try and get bit more info on these tracers first ,but i think you,ll get more good feedback of the lightforce ,how much difference in price does the tracer come with dimer ? Quote Link to post
bleachtastesnice 4
Right, cheers Rocky1 taken you advice and looked around for more info, as far as I am aware 'Tracer' is a gun mounted lamp made by Deben and the do get good feedback, there is a handle that can be attached soo it can be used for our sort off lamping I think what Fordie was meaning is the 'Ucaller' lamps instead off 'Tracer'? There is a mixed review with them, some say there cushtie and alot cheaper but most say a little heavier and a lot poorer quality (shite beam, fragile, wiring ect) Any body seen or used them and what do you think?
