does it have to be cut? you can cut the spring with an angle grinder or grinding wheel.to finish the spring properly ?????? all i have ever done is cut springs never bothered to flaten them with heat i didn t wont to mess up the hardernig and tempering of the spring.

hi buddy

you can cut it with a angle grinder,but make sure both ends are smooth!

also you can polish your hammer and rail buddy,but make sure you chrono it ASAP :thumbs:

 

polishing you will need some fine wire wool grade 0000,some brasso(duraglit), methylated spirits,wet&dry.

 

and a lot of elbow greese! or you can check out my youtube chanel and see how it is done! :thumbs:

cutting a spring can give more power if the spring is far to strong .I had a gun that was shooting at 12.5 ftlbs .SO I cut the spring a bit 13 ftlbs a bit more 13.5 a little more 14 .then I cut more and more until the power droped to 11.5 .the guns max power is 14 ftlbs . the spring was so strong the piston bounced at the end of the stoke losing power .Then at 14 ftlbs the spring was the perfect strength for the gun to get max power but illegal .So I cut more spring to take the guns power down to 11.5 .
