hi everyone, a mate of mine lost his harris just before christmas, anyway a few days ago a guy phoned him and said hed found his bird upa conifer in his back garden, we went round and sure enough it was there!! just wondered if any one has any tips on getting her down? weve tried pulling a dead rat on a creance in front of her, swinging a chick on a lure, putting a pigeon down for her but nothing seems to be working, were pretty confident shes not going anywhere as shes started building a nest in the conifer, so please if any one has any ideas or suggestions im all ears, cheers people

great pics of the trap but would check out cos im not a 100% but think you have to apply to defra for a licence to trap any bird of prey wether its yours or not. not having a go but check it out as you never know whos been looking at the topics! good luck with your bird if your not having any luck you could always put the other harrisbowed out but iside a large dog crate being fed chances are she will come down for a look any way.

i know maye im just pointing out its a public forum and you might need to if your trapping it if yopu know what i mean! :whistling: again best of luck. if it was legal by far the best way would be a bow trap with a live pigeon or rabbit in it as it would be irresistable to her but its not so thats out of the question obviously!

another harris hawk is the best bet,and i dont think it will be nest building,if its in the same place all the time,i rigged up a landing net pole with a cord threw it and climbed a tree looped it round the jesses and caught it,my mates very good at catching them with is bal chantri.jonny you might know him, milton phil.

Don't think I know him mate. I don't think its building either they like to get into conifers out the way of corvids so maybe just found a nice warm spot to chill out. I reckon the males the best way to go to but its a risk if she gonna snot it first go. Is she entered and is she wearing Jesses and is she at fat weight? Big step ladder and a red lamp during night could be a good call if she's settled there just reach in and pick her out. Where about is she? Location wise I mean?

cheers for all the replys people, and yea its in eccles, she must be making a nest as weve seen her snapping branches off and flying them back to the conifer!!?? cheers for the pics mate ill get one rigged up, and if that doesnt work looks like im climbing the tree!! :11:, so me putting my male out is another option but theres a chance she could kill him!? dont like the sounds of that much!!
