busman-pete 0
HW100 carbine TH Quote Link to post
markha 99
Quite possibly the Air Arms S410 carbine Perfect in every way, light, easy to point and deadly accurate. Apart from that I would get a rifle that fits you well, that you like the feel of and that matches the amount of money you have to spend, the main contenders are all very accurate rifles. Also decide whether you want single or multi-shot and dont discount older models as they are just as accurate. I made a choice between the HW100 and th AAs410, I chose the AA because it was a fair bit lighter than the HW100, eventhough my trade in was a HW80, which is also a solid, if not heavy gun. fry 209
air arms 410 carbine suits me. cant really fault it other than the standard AA silencer aint that quiet. but this question gets asked over an over again and every one has there faves, and the most sensible answer given time and time again is try before you buy and see what you like best. from what i read on here it will be out of air arms, BSA, or weirach. but it does seem that all the the bsa fans have to have them modified. good luck. Hi Fry, Thats no entirely true buddy Thats just your personal opinion and thats a comment where you want people to read between the lines mate We dont have to have our rifles modified at all; we have it done to already improve on a really good rifle and make it much much better and why not? Just be aware I had mine over a year shooting it happily before I heard about Tench and what he can do with a BSA mate. Im sure if there was a man with Tenchs skills in the AA world a lot of guys would get their rifle tweaked by him just as the BSA fans have it done by Tench or JB. Tench does reg AA rifles but he's more renowned for BSA tinkering. Its not a case of having to have them modifield its more a case of having it done because the service is there and its a very good service indeed. ATB Si. fry 209
not pretending to know anything about bsa rifles in depth never even picked one up! love the stock on the r10 but just by what i read on this site i kind of think they arent what they could be straight from the factory R.E http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/195149-bsa-r10/ Quote Link to post

markha 99
hahahahahahahahahaha, lmao Fry,, fair play though mate. I have to be honest I was going to add a 'wind up' in my post but thought better of it, but what the heck, heres what I was going to put: I would recommend only one rifle to buy and that is an Air Arms, it doesnt matter which one or how old it is, all the AA are the worlds most accurate rifles you can buy, and I challenge anyone to outshoot meand my AA as it is so accurate, I can shoot drawing pin size groups from 1 yard to 70yds with ease, it doesnt even matter if theres a 10mph full value wind the gun is so accurate, And theres more, its even better in the dark as it seems to be able to point itself right at any target with little effort, And if thats not enough, I dont even need to be able to shoot very well as the gun is so accurate and can outshoot all of you, And if thats not enough you can get them in 2 different calibres .22 and .177, I prefer .22 because it has a flatter flight path trajectory type thing from 0 yards to 5 yards so great for ratting and I would still win a HFT competition against any of the .177 girls shooting out to their short 50m ranges. The only thing that I would say is crap about it though is that the cardboard box that they come in is shit and I must confess there are other gun makers out theire that do better cardboard boxes, but boxes dont make you shoot straight, AA rifles do Well it was something along those lines I was going to post Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes that’s a different subject altogether mate. That thread was about broken BSA rifles and BSA not fixing them correctly, this is a sad and true fact that BSA should address better, but what we are talking about here is a perfectly good rifle needing to be modified to work well which they don’t. Read this recent post from Bill which is talking about another quality brand of rifle still having a problem as all will do from time to time: Hi Scott. After having issues with the consistency and accuracy of MY.... HW100 I decided a tune and fettle was in order to get the best from the rifle. I asked Adi to set the reg and balance the hammer spring, clean and polish the internals, add another barrel retaining screw, have the crown lapped on the lathe. Other internal works as well. The end result is now a very smooth, consistent, and accurate rifle. Most PCPs are brilliant out of the box......others need a bit of tweaking and further setting up. ATB. Bill. Im sure that there are plenty of lads on here with BSA rifles like the r10, Ultra and T10 that only have them modified to either get more shots per fill or just to overall make them something special and not that they need to.
