Absolutely huge hare, never seen anything like it all the years I've coursed them ! A 14 - 18lb hare is the same size as a fox !! juckler123 707 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Share Posted March 29, 2011 Going back a few years there was a hare caught in a pit village that was pictured hung on a coal house door its head was level with the top of the door its feet just touched the bottonm a gang of kids caught it on the local experimental farm word got round and minisrty fetched it back off them would have liked to have weighed it biggest i ever had with the dogs was a huge 17 pounder that the dog took out of the seat from the same area thought hed got a fox lol had a few at twelves and one at just under 14 big hares used to be far more plentyfull round the big pinewoods local to me sadly you dont see them in the numbers that there used to be atb.
