NATACC 18 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Share Posted March 28, 2011 think back can you recall ever owning one of these wonder dogs not talking about huge bags but amount of quarry taken have you any pic to post what happened to these dogs did you bred have you still got the lines and how did you come about them as an example im thinking along the lines of scooby if he was as great as they say you see ive spent years searching for my kind of wonder dog and havent found any so im wondering do they exist Quote Link to post

ruby jet 184 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Share Posted March 28, 2011 the best dog ive ever had was a collie grey whippet seen her do things that if u wernt there u would not beleave! like jumping 6ft off the floor to nail a squril that thorght it was safe and the time she over took a crosser to nail a rabbit if this dog stood still and looked in a bush you know what ever was in there was dead or as good as this dog turned out to be to clever for her own good killing 5 of my next neighbours cats and in the end she was poisoned but never found out buy who Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Share Posted March 28, 2011 mine are all shite Same here, One thing iv realised tho is every mans wonder dog is different be it coursing (Preban) lamping, ferreing,mooching, or the terrier lads work , What one would class as a machine is another average lurcher that he would expect any in any of his old mutts , We all strive for better dogs if were honest, alright dogs maybe not the right word maybe lets say better strike,pace,wind, working brain ect ect even in our legends, As the Auld saying goes there's ALWAYS one better, As Long as your happy and freezers full then he's doing his job..... stav11 32 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Share Posted March 28, 2011 i have only ever had 1 so far she was a first xbull/greyxsaluki/grey/whippet,she would catch any thing from pheasant mid air to big bambi she excelled her self on the fox both day,night and at rhe end of dig,she was a true alrounder and a best friend to me,sadly just after i explained to her about the ban coming in she ran a fox across a field over a fence whitch had metal railings on the other side she hit it head on and was killed out right at 5 year old,could never breed off her as she only came into season once when she was a pup after that she never came in again. to me she was a wonder dog. atb.
