sibaldib 6
I have an Aldi night vision monocular. It is not bad for the price and I only want to use it for scanning our rented paddocks for rabbits. We have horses in the paddocks, so I don't want to spook them with the lamp, only turning it on at the last minute before I use the .22LR or .17HMR. Can any one suggest something small/relatively cheap that will enable me to see out to 100yds? Thanks Sib Quote Link to post

Thanks Sib Depends on which lamp you are using but if its a lightforce 170 this on ebay is the cheapest option Item number: 320634175875 as for a laser you will not get one to see 100yards for less than £120 here http://www.nvscopes.com/night%20vision%20laser%20illuminator%20N1000.html or put a add in the wanted section for a N1000 IR laser or for a IR filter for the lamp you are using Quote Link to post

sibaldib 6
Sorry - perhaps I didn't explain myself very well. I already have gun mounted lamps. What I wanted was a laser that I could use solely with the Aldi Night Vision scope and then when I had spotted the rabbits use the lamp to take the shot. The shortest time the lamp is on the better, so as not to spook the horses too much. Thanks Sib Quote Link to post

12gauge 2
a laser is no good with a night vision i mounted a night vision scope from aldi on my gun & had a laserking scope to shoot rats the laser gives a shine back in the night vision . so you need a lamp or a night vision rifle scope .my night vision scope is low mag so only any good to 40 /50 yards hope that helps Quote Link to post

12gauge 2
i was only shooting at close range for rats but you do get glare back at long range the best is to get a night vision rifle scope its the only way to do it ps & the rats can see the laser + how can the laser beam hit the scope turret when the laser is in the scope Quote Link to post
