johnrthrfrd 223
took pup and bedlington for a walk on sat morn drove to a local beach as i new there was always a few rabbits knocking about pulled into the car park about 8,30 looked onto the sand dunes rabbits every were the 2 dogs nearly went through the windscreen.i have been here before and new there was a couple of big warrens but when i got out of the van with the dogs and looked along the sand dunes it was just one continuis warren for as far as i could see, from the road all the way across to were the dunes met the beach probably about 100m in places walked along the dunes and it never stopped just 1 massive warren all the way along. there was rabbits every were but there was that many holes they were never more than about 3ft away from a hole and were just nipping back in when the dogs got near them. i sat on the top of a hill and watched the dogs flying after the rabbits for about 20mins. but what i noticed was the amount of coloured rabbits that were mixed in with the wild ones black, black and white, fawn, fawn and white, even a few all white ones dont no if the locals have been getting sick of there pet bunnies and just hoying them in with the wild ones any way it did give the dogs a great bit exercise the bedlington did manage to grab a 1 by the back leg as it disapeared down hole and dragged it out. on the way back walked along the beach and there was even holes right over the dunes and down onto the beach. any way good exercise for the dogs pup learned a bit more and even got 1 to feed the ferrets. john.
